At one.. we aim to get you an appointment with the right person at a time that is convenient to you.

Outpatient consultant

Your initial consultation will be undertaken at one of our specialist musculoskeletal clinics.  Here we will take a full medical history and perform an appropriate examination before deciding on whether or not any further diagnostic investigations are required.  It is advisable before attending your initial appointment to have contacted your insurance company and obtained an authorisation code for the appointment and any basic diagnostic tests.

Diagnostics

At the time of your initial consultation your consultant may request x-rays, MRI scans or ultrasound scans.  These will usually be covered by your initial authorisation code but if you have any concerns  it is advisable to contact your insurance company.  At onewe aim to offer same day diagnostic imaging if convenient or it can be arranged for another time to suit you. The office team will then arrange a follow up appointment to discuss the diagnostics when they have been processed.

Should your consultant recommend any outpatient procedures such as injections, you will be informed of the reason for this recommendation and any additional costs that may be incurred and to have the opportunity to consider the plan and contact your insurance company should you require.

Inpatient treatment

On occasions your consultant may recommend that a surgical procedure is the best way to treat your injury or condition.  If this is the case they will discuss with you fully the risks and benefits of the procedure and the likely outcomes of operative and non-operative courses of action.  You will then have time to consider this fully.  Should you wish to go ahead, the consultants team will contact you to arrange for your admission at one of the private hospitals the one. group operate from.

Ongoing Care

We are committed at one. to ensuring all our patients are fully satisfied with their treatment.  Your consultant will arrange appropriately timed follow up consultations in order to make sure you are fully recuperated before discharge.

Patient Outcomes Monitoring

Throughout the one. patient journey we will request you enter into our Patient Outcomes Monitoring system. This is an online, fully anonymised and GDPR compliant system which aims to monitor your response to both non-operative and operative interventions proposed by your consultant and ensure you are progressing as we would hope throughout your rehabilitation.

At your initial appointment you will be asked to fill out an anonymised pre-operative questionnaire looking at your current situation. You will then be sent online questionnaires at appropriate time periods throughout your treatment via email.  The participation in the outcomes reporting is entirely optional.  Your assistance is however greatly appreciated as monitoring all of our patients treatment allows us to continually improve our quality of care.
